FRW should book some big names once in a while, like Brutus Beefcake, Tony Atlas, Doink The Clown, Antonio Thomas, Justin Credible, and more. Anybody else have suggestions for big-name wrestlers they would like to see in FRW?

FRW should book some big names once in a while, like Brutus Beefcake, Tony Atlas, Doink The Clown, Antonio Thomas, Justin Credible, and more. Anybody else have suggestions for big-name wrestlers they would like to see in FRW? The old All Star Wrestling Association, which we are sort of an offshoot of, used a lot of guys like Beefcake, Atlas, Greg Valentine and many others. It made the shows far too expensive to ever turn a profit (never mind break even) as they came with a high price tag, including in most cases airfare. Going with "the stars" would frankly upset a very careful financial ballance we have developed. We are also really not geared to promote a show who's main focus is on one or two big names. We would rather put the focus on the group as a whole. Perhaps we could find a way to make it work, but...and I'm trying to be delicate here...most often, the investment in them wasn't worth the output that came out of them. Most of them had no vested interest in seeing the place succede; it was just another stop in the road for them. The only two exceptions to that rule that come to mind would be Greg Valentine and Koko B. Ware, who both really worked hard (Valentine had several good, hard matches in the old AWA; KBW had very entertaining matches with Johnny Vegas). The wrestlers we currently use (many of which did work for the old AWA) have a vested interest in the shows. Over the past two years, guys like Christian Angers, Panther Martin, Steven Marriott and Master Flesh have learned how to be the "focus" of a show, rather than just going out and killing time on a show until the "Stars" came out to wrestle. Guys like Johnny Vegas, Tim Walker (we miss him a lot) were already familiar with that role, but hadn't done it in a while. The way the shows are structured now...there is room for every wrestler on the card to have a positive effect on the show. Watching them rise to the occasion and to take pride in not only their performance but the contribution they make to Front Row Wrestling when they wrestle has been a point of great pride for myself. The shows are, by most accounts, a hell of a lot more interesting at this point and the wrestling is better across the board. Do we rule out using more reconized names? No, not entirely. Do we see using some of the afformentioned names (and others not mentioned) if their sole purpose is to come in, pick up a big paycheck and overshadow our product? Absolutely not. I don't begrudge them the pay, but FRW should recieve something in return for that investment. We simply won't use someone to spike a house, because after they leave we're no stronger than before. There's a few guys who would understand and work with us on something like that, but we really haven't found a situation yet where it's needed. FRW Fall Guy

i agree with fallguy it would probley spike the crowd for that show, but the long range attendeance wouldnt change that much if any, i was thinking though of a new england wrestler from maine that did the indie circuit for many years like icw, iwccw, acw, wwa robbie ellis im not sure of his situation now but i think he still wrestles off and on,he sells art works.actiually i just found out he's wrestling most of the month of september from canada thru maine and mass / rhode island.so he's still active as a wrestler.but not sure of the price tag that it would cost to get him.he has a website to get in contact with him ""superstud@robbieellis.com""just a thought.

I like the idea of what I call the “Big Heel Campaign”.
Back when I used to watch wrestling on TV the champions were usually guys like Bruno Sammartino, Pedro Morales and Bob Backlund. Their opponents were usually made up of guys who traveled from other regions and would do a six to eight month campaign in the WWWF territory, beating up all the undercard guys in and cumulating with their Big Battle with the champion. Then they would move on to another territory.
With Angers holding the title, I could see this type of booking working for FRW. Bring in a guy from another “territory” (Chaotic, Slamtech, etc.), let him work his way up the rankings and earn a title match against Christian.
Max Impact (Bauer), Bob Evans Michael Sain, Alex Arion, Brian Malonis have all worked for FRW before and would all make legitimate contenders for the All Star Crown. Others too, Even Larry Huntley.
Another guy I would like to see is Pat Masters, only because he really ain’t wrestling much of anywhere else and he is too good not to work regularly.

There are a few guys in FRW that I can see him having amazing matches with. Now imagine if they brought in Masters AND Jose Perez? 2D Edge vs Martin & Mack? Yes please! Dear FRW Fall Guy. Nudge Nudge, Hint hint, Wink Wink.... PS. My apologies to the FRW fans who have no idea who backrow fan & I are talking about.
