We are looking for more places to run in New Hampshire. Areas we'd like to target include the NH seacoast area and off of the Rt.91 belt on the Vermont/NH border. Here is the problem. Halls that can hold small wrestling events like ours are actually kind of hard to find. As the saying goes, "I am but one man", and would like to save some time by not having to run around the multiple back roads of New Hampshire. So, I am asking people on this board for suggestions in towns near them what might be a good hall to run. Before you answer, bear in mind a wrestling show (even a small one like ours) need some specific requirements:
1) Decent ceiling height. As fun as it may sound, we don't really want to be replacing drywall when one of our guys gets thrown up into the ceiling because it was too low. Our ring sits 2' high off the ground. The absolute lowest ceiling we can have is 13'.
2) Enough room to fit a 16 x16' ring with at minimum a 4' area for a ringside area (a 24' x 24' area) and still leave enough room for a few people (and this is small time wrestling; sometimes it is only a few) to watch.
In addition, I would like to add we would prefer halls that have not been used by "other" organizations in the recent past. I've called on some halls recently that were used in recent months by another organization (I won't name the group; I'll simply say that We'll Forget About it; make your own clever play on anachronisms) and have been turned down flat either because the hall was left a mess and/or the rent on the hall was not paid by "the last guy".
Bearing all that in mind, let loose thy posts! Maybe together, we can make something happen near you!

Well what ever happend to St.Stanislaus Gym in Nashua, also I've heard of AWA shows at nashua high. Im sure other private schools like Bishop Guertin/ Trinity/ Nashua Catholic would make a deal with venues in thier gyms. I have also thought perhaps the JFK arena in Manchester which usually runs as an Ice rink. The place would be perfect when they take away the ice in the off season. hear are a list of halls i have found in NH Big Bear Lodge 106 Route 13 Brookline, NH 03033 (603) 672-7675 Kiwanis Hall 14 Melendy Road Hudson, NH 03051 (603) 889-3486 Amoskeag Bingo Center 195 McGregor Street Manchester, NH 03102 (603) 668-6591 Manchester Bingo Center 165 John Devine Drive Manchester, NH 03103 (603) 662-2882 Concord Bingo Center 60 Sheep Davis Road (Route 106) Pembroke, NH 03275 (603) 223-2002 United Bingo Hall 400 Route 1 Bypass Portsmouth, NH 03801 (603) 433-1244 Donna Flanagan Hall 184 Milton Road Rochester, NH 03867 (603) 335-2021 Rockingham Park 1 Rockingham Park Blvd. Salem, NH 03079 (603) 898-2311 Seacoast Bingo, LLC 451 High Street Somersworth, NH 03878 (603) 749-1894 Funspot Bingo Route 3 Weirs Beach, NH 03246 (603) 366-4377 Taylor's Hall 122 North Lowell Road Windham, NH 03087 (603) 434-5772

Thank you for all your responses! We will be looking into several of these venues in the coming weeks and months, in particular the ones toward the coast. Opera halls and some of the larger venues may be out of our budget. Call us cheap if you want to , but the economic realities of this are that high rents are hard to overcome financially.
There seems to be a great deal of anger over the recent WFA shutdown and while I am not close to the situation, budget problems would appear to be at least one reason things went down the way they did with them. Bearing that in mind, we prefer to go ahead and be a little more careful with our cash output as no business runs without capitol to drive it. I hope you guys can appreciate this, and also appreciate someone is willing to give you the lowdown as to how this stuff all works.
FRW is not some majorly well heeled financial organization. Hell, this thing could fall on it's face in a few months for all we know. We all have jobs and family and commitments outside of this that limits our time and financial resources. We don't pretend to be the next "big thing" on the horizon. We are what we are; a small wrestling promotion struggling to raise enough money from show to show to afford the next show and maybe buy pizza after the matches. A lot of promotions seem to disdain people looking at them like they are minor league compared to the WWE product. I don't understand why that is. In baseball, football and soccer, minor league attendance is way up in recent years because it is a more affordable option than the big leagues and a lot more friendly to it's fans. Some of the people who follow, say the Worcester Tornado's baseball team are very devoted, rabid ticket buying fans. I think other places turn off people when they present themselves as big league wrestling while performing in a Knights of Columbus with 37 people in attendance. We don't wish to insult your intelligence like that...we're a good minor league wrestling group and proud of it! Hooray for the B-Team!

As an update...we are looking into the Big Bear Lodge and the Acadien Club in Dracut. Both are amenable towards wrestling shows. The Big Bear Lodge is tight (as in, the ring will probably just fit) and might not have the population base we need in Brookline for continued shows. We may try a "one shot" deal there. Dracut would be better, and it looks good but we need to get into the hall to check cieling hieght. It seems OK from the pictures, but we need to make a physical inspection of the hall.
St. Stan's, which the AWA used to run regularly, has been sold to either the city or a developer. I don't know when precisely the place is being traded, but I do know the AWA still had thier cage there and had to move it last weekend, so they must be moving pretty quick on it.

Without getting too specific...yes, there is some movement on the seacoast for us. I don't want to announce something until it is set in stone, but it looks OK right now for us to make our debut in the first quarter of next year in the Dover/Sommersworth area.

Maverick Wild (free fall guy),
Now that you have officially stepped into the trap laid by The Grand Wizard of Wrestling to come to the seacoast, you will soon be aware of how fitting your computer name is (Free Fall Guy), because indeed you will soon suffer at the hands of The Grand Wizard's Stable of Assassins. Hopefully, the Wizard and his Stable of Assassins will be able to attend the event in Rochester. The Stable includes the real champion, Ric Flair, who hopefully will attend with the true championship belt.
The Wizard and his Stable may actually suspend temporarily it's vendetta against the hated Dover Legends at this initial event, as full attention must be given toward determining which of the Front Row Wrestlers the Stable will support in the coming months.
One thing is for sure Maverick........Front Row Wrestling won't regret coming to the Seacoast, site of the most rabid and enthused wrestling fans in New Hampshire.
