The Friday the 13th Rochester show proved to be GOOD LUCK for all those who chose to attend. The company provided a highly engaging and entertaining event from start to finish characterized by some outstanding old school wrestling and excellent interaction by the wrestlers and managers with the audience. Sonny Goodspeed acted as the Pied Piper, leading a merry band of young fans on a musical march around the ring prior to his match.
The fate of Maverick Wild's future grew more uncertain as he was verbally and physically assaulted by the cowardly terrorists Joey Eastman and Tough Talk Tony Spencer. Fans can only hope that the regal Maverick gets his revenge on May 8 in a handicap match against these two cowards.
One of the shocking events of the evening was the stunning heel turn by the once revered Justin Shaype. Shaype humilated his already, shall we say challenged, partner Johnny Royal after their defeat. Shayne chose to blame Royal for their loss and then pontificated on his views about world issues, proclaiming a new plan for how he and others need to lead their lives. The Wizard expects we haven't heard the end of these proclamations and the Wizard must say he is pleased that Shaype has finally come to his senses and understands what it takes to make it in this world. The Wizard can only hope that Justin will soon begin referring to himself in the third person.
While all matches wee highly entertaining with some excellent wrestling, two matches stuck out for their truly outstanding wrestling. The main event championship match was a marvelous display by two equal wrestlers. When the usually popular Antonio the Promise lost in a highly equal match, he did a heel turn following the handshake at the match's conclusion, ultimately spitting in the face of the champ. The Grand Wizard of course was delighted by this move and would like to publicly offer to represent the Promise in the future.
In the Wizard's humble opinion, the very best wrestling match of the evening was the high flying wrestling ballet performed by Mistress Belmont and Vanity Vixon. They engaged in an energetic match from start to finish with an amazing number of excellent wrestling moves throughout. The match ended with both being counted out and ultimately Mistress Belmont did a sneak chair attack on Vanity, who then took an amazing chairshot in the middle of the ring. Vanity required medical attention and the night's excellent announcer O'Doul, delighted the fans with an announcement that the May 8 return to Rochester will feature a hardcore match between these two outstanding women wrestlers.
Finally, kudos to all the zebras, who did fine jobs, with particular kudos to the Dean of the Zebras, the Great Tanaka.
The Wizard thanks FRW for a most outstanding event.
