This is a question I have been kicking around for a while. It appears that the National Wrestling Alliance no longer has an affiliate in the New England area. The answer is Yes or No, as an "I don't care" vote is pretty much a no. There are costs involved. What are your opinions on the subject?

what costs would be involved and by being and extension or affiliate of the nwa would wrestlers from there other affiliates come to this area to wrestle. and i know costs useally trickle down to the fans which is cool like when the wfa was running we was paying $17.00 ringisde and $15.00 general admission so people are willing to pay more to get even a better show with a chance to see more wrestlers from other areas that you hear about but dont get a chance to see in this area except on websites normally.ive been a wrestling fan since the early 60's when i was 4 years old saw my 1st match on tv and i was hooked and i have a good size collection of video tapes and dvds of wrestling from all decades from here in the u.s.and japan & mexico from traditional to luchadore-aaa to hardcore ecw - fmw - njp -so as you can see love wrestling, wanted to be a pro wrestler in my younger days but injuries kept me from that goal but love watching it on tv and when i get a chance to see it live at an indy show and you know at an indy there doing it for the love of wrestling because the moneys not really there and the fans that show up are great and sometimes more then not they enhance the show with the factions and fans dressing up in costume is great.well i'll cut this i get rambleing on here lol hope to see you all at the rochester show on the 23rd good luck and good health.

hmm. I said yes, but I would rather see FRW as an AWA affiliate.

as in the lobstermans awa is an indie to why would 1 indie want to be an afiliate of another indie.if a indie or minor league organization wants to be an affiliate it would be of a major league team or major wrestling organization not another minor league organization...and if by some mistake you was talking about the long defunct american wrestling alliance which was run by verne gagne then your like 17 years to late lol.tounge in cheek lol.

There have been many AWA's over the years...one actually predated Verne Gagne's version. That one operated in this area originally and was owned by Paul Bowser, who was a very influential promoter based out of Boston. Today, there are a few different AWA's around. The Lobsterman's AWA has not operated in two years, with FRW picking up some of their old contacts. The AWA being refered to for affiliation is another group trying to recreate the feel of the old NWA regional system; I feel the current NWA is a lot closer to that, however.

I voted Yes. Being an NWA affiliate could really grant a much larger exposure to FRW.

I vote no. The NWA has outlived its usefulness.
The reason for the NWA’s original existence was to unite promoters in different territories in keeping down the competition. If NWA members were getting too much competition from some “outlaw” promotion, other NWA members would bring in their top stars to help the local NWA affiliate drive out the competition.
Also, the NWA champion, be it Lou Thesz, Jack Briscoe, Terry Funk or whoever, would make appearances in all the different territories.
I don’t see any of this stuff happening now.
