Match just signed; New champion's first title defense... Rematch from Ultimate Endurance
All Star Championship Bout
"Bad Karma" Christian Angers (Champion) vs. "the Duke of Elegance" Don Chesterfield
-On August 3rd in Rochester, NH, Christian Angers competed in and won “Ultimate Endurance” for the All Star Title with a brilliant performance in his opening bout with Master Flesh and his tournament final with “the Duke of Elegance” Don Chesterfield. While Angers did prove that he had the tools to win the championship, several questions remain unanswered following the tournament.
“the Duke” firmly asserts that the only reason Angers is the champion right now is due to the luck of the draw. The tourney consisted of a first round traditional match; if a wrestler one this first match, he and the other winners names were put in a hat and given a number based on a blind draw. Those who picked #1 & #2 would wrestle first; the winner of that would face the #3 wrestler and the winner of that match faced #4.
The Duke himself faced (and beat) Tommy Mack in the opening round. His luck ran afoul when he was picked as wrestler #1. He had to face 3 men if he was to win the title. Amazingly enough, Chesterfield showed tremendous endurance and beat his first two opponents (an injured Shane Sharp and Panther Martin) but ultimately succumbed to Angers in his final match. Chesterfield and manager Steven Marriot immediately petitioned FRW for a rematch with Angers, citing his overall performance in the tournament. FRW officials agreed, and the match is set for Claremont on 9/15/07. We will now find out just who is superior, one on one; the super technical Christian Angers or the Aristocratic Don Chesterfield.
Granite State Title bout (Rematch):
Shane Sharpe (champion) v. Maverick Wild (Former champion)
-Rookie sensation Shane Sharpe pulled off an amazing upset in Rochester, NH and pinned 17 year plus veteran Maverick Wild cleanly with his big swinging DDT off the top rope (the Sharpener) after absorbing a tremendous beating to his ribs from Wild. Following the loss, Wild went berserk, smashing the new champion with the GS belt. He then attacked the referee and actually used the referee as a weapon, slamming him full force onto Sharpe's already injured rib cage. To follow up, Wild also dropped a double barrel knee drop onto the prone Sharpe's ribs as well.
Sharp bravely went on to compete in the finals of Ultimate Endurance for the All Star Title, but blames Wild for not being able to compete at the level needed to win the tournament. Now, Sharpe will face the former Granite State titleholder in Claremont...can he withstand a double helping of Wild?
Master Flesh -v- Panther Martin
-During their last confrontation in Winchendon, Ma, Martin beat Flesh in a thrilling match; a match many point to as Martin establishing himself as a contender caliber singles wrestler. Flesh, however, is looking to get back on pace as one of FRW’s top contenders as well. There is added importance to this match, as FRW officials had decreed that the winner of this bout will face whomever is the All Star Champion in Rindge, NH on October 12th.
While Martin does hold a win over him, one cannot count on the wildly erratic Flesh out. Martin should be wary in thinking he may hold some psychological advantage over him, as FRW’s resident Lord of the Strange is hard to one up in mental warfare. One thing is for sure…with a title shot on the line, expect both men to be at the top of their game.
All Star Tag Team Title Bout:
Sethoran & Tommy Mack -v- "Fabulous" Johnny Vegas & Justin Shape (champions)
-When asked why they would be facing Sethoran & Tommy Mack instead of #1 contenders Chunky but Funky, Johnny Vegas had this to say…
“Clunky but Skunky? We only faced qualified pro wrestlers…not two refugees from Disco night at the Weight Watcher’s mixer”
Justin Shaype added, “ Of course, instead of those two clowns FRW gives us a Vampire and some wana-be biker gang reject named Tommy Mack. If they want us to defend the title against circus acts, they should bring a couple of trapeze artists…at least they’ll look good when we make them airborne”.
Overconfidence might prove to be the Champion’s undoing in this match. Tommy Mack has experience, holding the All Star Tag Title with Panther Martin. Vampire Sethoran is a fast moving veteran looking for gold. While an unlikely pairing, the combination of power and speed may prove to be more than the cunning duo of Shaype and Vegas are counting on.
Mike Liddell (debut) -v- Dr. Reginald Heresy
-Mike Lidell makes his FRW debut…but is done no favors as he faces one of the region’s most experienced and proficient grapplers, Dr. Reginald Heresy.
Steven Marriott -v- American Thunder (debut)
-Steven Marriott claims he is not only a top flight manager, but a wrestling force as well. He’ll get his chance to prove it against the debuting American Thunder.
Tickets: At door, tickets are $13 front row and $11 General Admission. You may opt to reserve tickets at a savings of $1.00 per ticket. For reservations, please email a request to us, or contact us by phone at 978-660-9384. This one's for Mad Dog!
