Front Row Wrestling returns to the American Legion on Eastern Ave. in Rochester, NH on Friday, May 18th with a bell time of 8pm. Matches already signed for this event… Main Event: Front Row Wrestling All Star Championship Bout Kid Crazy (w/ Dr. Everett Payne) Vs. Frankie Armadillo -On April 14th in Claremont, NH many feel that despite his brash and thingyy attitude, Kid Krazy proved himself a tough and more than competent champion by defeating top competitor Maverick Wild in a brutal stretcher match. While some may grumble that the results of something as violent, wild and haphazard as a stretcher match can be greatly influenced by sheer luck and situation, the truth of the matter is that Kid Krazy beat an 18 year veteran of the highest regard in a match of his own choice according to the rules (or lack thereof) of the match. At the end of it fans had to grudgingly admit that despite the ire he inspires from them, he is deserving of the All Star Championship (FRW’s top title). Now the question will be; can he shift gears and face a challenge from his past…Frankie Armadillo. Frankie Armadillo has also been proving himself on a regular basis in FRW. His hard fought victory over Don Chesterfield on April 14th has put him over the top and has earned him a shot at the gold belt. Armadillo and Krazy have a history together as well; over the years they have tag teamed successfully and also warred with each other on several occasions. While the All Star Champion is currently riding the wave of success, perhaps no other opponent he could face in FRW knows him as well as Armadillo. Style wise, they have very similar abilities and patterns in regards to how they get the job done, and previous bouts between the two over the years have been hotly contested and produced near classic matches. Now, with FRW’s top laurels on the line, fans can expect these two to pull out all the stops. Co-Feature: Rematch Submission Only Match for the Granite State Title “Bad Karma” Christian Angers (Granite State Champion, w/ Steven Marriott) Vs. Maverick Wild -Angers is slowly but surely building a reputation as a feared submission expert, to the point some have started calling him a “Hooker”. This term is not indicative of being a lady of the night, but harkens back to a time early in the sport’s development. A “Hooker” in wrestling was a man who had the ability to quickly and often very unexpectedly lock on a hold capable of causing crippling pain or possible breaking bones. Back on 3/23/07, He and Maverick Wild competed in a two out of three falls match up for Anger’s Granite State title. The match turned into a 3 fall “uncle” contests of sorts. The first fall went to Wild with a sharp looking figure four leg lock. Angers came back and did something that few people have ever seen, forcing Wild to concede the second fall via submission with a powerful neck vise. Doubly impressive was he did so without the advisement and encouragement (and possible interference) of Steven Marriott who took a nasty shot to the ring post from Wild earlier in the match and was carried out. The third fall saw both men exchanging several holds in an effort to make the other man submit. Unfortunately for Angers, he had used the ropes to break out of some of these holds 5 times, and FRW rules state that a wrestler is only allowed 5 rope breaks per match. Wild got the figure four leg lock again and appeared to have it sunk in good and was on his way to the win. Angers grabbed the ropes, but the ref refused to force a break. With no other options available to him for escape, Angers showed his ring intelligence by rolling OUT of the ring while still trapped in the figure four leg lock. Unable to extricate themselves from the lock, Angers gutted it out on the floor until both men were counted out. While most would accuse Angers of taking a shortcut to keep his title, one has to somewhat admire his ingenuity and his ability to tough it out for an extra 10 seconds waiting for the double count out. Wild was unsatisfied with this result however and angrily challenged Angers to a Submission Only match for May 18th. As added incentive, he (perhaps foolishly) declared if he did not win the Submission Match, he would retire from Front Row Wrestling as an active wrestler. Normally, the title holder has more to lose than the challenger. In this case, the stakes are even higher for Wild. Can Angers make the ultra tough Maverick Wild submit for a second time when he has EVERYTHING on the line? Can Wild recover from his loss in Claremont and cement his place in Front Row Wrestling? It will be interesting to see how all these variables work out on May 18th. More matches, pricing and advanced ticket info will be announced later this week! Non-Title tag team bout: Panther Martin & Tommy Mack (FRW tag team champions) vs. "The Marriott Apprenticeship Program" (MAP) Steven Marriott & "the Apprentice" Shayne Sharpe -in Claremont NH on 3/14/07, Martin & Mack kicked off thier second reign in style, defeating Marriott Corp. members "Fabulous" Johnny Vegas & Justin Shaype. On the same card, success was far more elusive for Steven Marriott's apprentiship program (MAP). Marriott and his "Apprentice" Shayne Sharpe chalked one up in the "L" column against Chunky but Funky. After the match, Sharpe lost his cool with his supposed mentor and slugged him following the loss. Apparently, cooler heads have prevailed and they will team again. As thier sole outing as a team resulted in a loss, they are not considered rank contenders and cannot be granted a title match for the FRW tag team titles. FRW has granted MAP a non-title matchup for May 18th, however. Says Marriott, "Myself and Mr. Sharpe had a difference of opinion in Claremont, and he expressed it badly. I feel Mr. Sharpe has all the potential in the world, but the reason he is an apprentice as opposed to a full fledged member of the Marriott Corporation is because of some issues with impulsive behavior and needing to learn to work as a productive member of a team. This non-title bout with Mack and Martin is the perfect situation for someone like him; to be in the ring with what is supposed to be top talent, without the pressure of having to win a title hanging over him. Once I show Mr. Sharpe how to topple these two faux champions, he will see the right way...the only way...the Marriott way!" Master Flesh -v- Matt Spectro Tickets are $11 General Admission, $13 for Front Row. Advanced tickets will be available on starting May 6th at the American Legion and at the Circle St. Variety Store in Rochester. More matches will be announced later this week! The plus sized masters of the dance floor also know a thing or two about what it takes to get it done in the ring…but will it be enough to topple one of FRW’s top tag teams in Johnny Vegas and Justin Shaype? CBF promises to dance all night long over Steven Marriott’s charges, but Shaype and Vegas promise they will be in no mood to “boogie”. Master Flesh -v- Matt Spectro -Matt Spectro is a large, punishing wrestler. His past couple of outings in FRW has proven he can lay a bruising down on opponents like few others can. As he puts it, “…when I hit people…they stay hit”. Master Flesh, on the other hand, appears to actually ENJOY pain. He definitely prescribes to the theory of “…sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me”! Spectro promises Flesh that if he loves pain so much, he’s going to have a great time in Rochester. One thing is for sure…the flesh is going to fly during this hard hitting encounter! Tickets are $11 General Admission, $13 for Front Row. Advanced tickets will be available on starting May 6th at the American Legion and at the Circle St. Variety Store in Rochester. Co-Feature: Rematch Submission Only Match for the Granite State Title “Bad Karma” Christian Angers (Granite State Champion, w/ Steven Marriott) Vs. Maverick Wild
-Angers is slowly but surely building a reputation as a feared submission expert, to the point some have started calling him a “Hooker”. This term is not indicative of being a lady of the night, but harkens back to a time early in the sport’s development. As added incentive, he (perhaps foolishly) declared if he did not win the Submission Match, he would retire from Front Row Wrestling as an active wrestler.
NOTE: To help maintain control during this match and to keep the cornermen under control and not interfering in the match, 1/2 of the tag team champions PANTHER MARTIN has been named special referee for this match.
